Checking website availability
How to verify if your site is accessible worldwide.
If your website isn't loading for you or your visitors, the first step is to determine whether the issue is global (server/network problem) or local (affecting only certain users or regions).
Recommended tools for availability checks
These services test your site from multiple locations and networks around the world:
-
ping-admin.com
Quick and simple: ping + HTTP response checks from several global points simultaneously. -
host-tracker.com
More detailed: ping, HTTP/HTTPS status, DNS resolution, traceroute, port monitoring, and uptime alerts. -
Our own tool: Checking server IP reachability
Traceroute and ping from our servers in various locations.
Other great options:
- downforeveryoneorjustme.com — instant "is it down for everyone or just me?" check
- uptimerobot.com — free monitoring with notifications (email, Telegram, Slack, etc.)
How to run a proper check and what to send to support
- Go to any of the tools above.
- Enter your site's full URL (include
https://orhttp://). - Run the test from multiple locations (Europe, US, Asia, etc.).
- Take a screenshot or copy the direct link to the report (most services provide a shareable URL).
If the site is down from most locations:
- Open a ticket in support
- Include:
- Your website URL
- Server IP address (if known)
- Link to the test results (or screenshot)
- When the issue started and how it appears (blank page, 502/504, timeout, etc.)
We'll check routing, server configuration, and resolve it quickly.
If the site is only down for you or some users:
- Test your own IP on the same tools — the problem might be with your ISP or a local block.
- Try accessing the site via VPN, mobile data, or a different network.
Quick tips & what to watch for
- HTTP/HTTPS checks show real visitor experience — always prioritize these over simple ping.
- Ping and
traceroutehelp identify where the connection drops. - Slow loading? Look at response time and TTFB (Time To First Byte).
- DDoS protection or firewall rules can block certain IPs — this usually shows clearly in multi-location tests.
