Checking server IP reachability
How to verify if your server is accessible from the internet.
To confirm that your Web Hosting, VPS, or dedicated server IP is reachable from different parts of the world, use a Looking Glass service.
Looking Glass tools let you run traceroute or ping tests from remote servers located in various countries and networks — this helps identify routing issues, blocks, or connectivity problems.
You can find your server's IP address in your personal account → IP Addresses section.
How to run a reachability test

Go to any public Looking Glass service, for example:
- lookinglass.org
- bgp.tools
- You can also use our Looking Glass service.

Enter your server's IP address and start a
tracerouteorpingtest. Example of successful traceroute output:

- If the trace reaches your IP and latency is reasonable (usually under 100–150 ms), your server is reachable from that location.
- If the trace stops with many asterisks (*) or times out — there may be a routing issue, provider filter, or block along the path.
What to do if the server is unreachable from some locations
- Compare results from multiple Looking Glass servers (Europe, US, Asia, etc.).
- If the server is reachable from most locations but not from your home/office network:

Find your public IP address using one of these services:

Run the same traceroute/ping test against your own IP from Looking Glass.

If your IP is also unreachable — the issue is likely with your ISP. Contact their support and provide the traceroute results.
- If the server is unreachable from many locations worldwide:
Open a ticket in support and include:
- Your server IP address
- Which Looking Glass server you tested from
- Type of test (
tracerouteorping) - Screenshot or copy of the output
