You can check if the private key corresponds to an SSL certificate using the [Certificate Key Matcher] service (https://www.sslshopper.com/certificate-key-matcher.html).

To do this, go to link. In the Enter your Certificate field, enter your certificate, and in the Enter your Private Key field, enter the private key of the certificate:

  • you will find the certificate details in the email sent to your contact email after the certificate was issued;
  • private key for free SSL certificate you will also find in the letter (subject of the letter starts with "Data for domain ssl certificate installation");
  • private key for paid certificate must be stored on your PC (the key was generated at the stage of certificate ordering).
