You can check if the private key corresponds to an SSL certificate using the [Certificate Key Matcher] service (https://www.sslshopper.com/certificate-key-matcher.html).
To do this, go to link. In the Enter your Certificate field, enter your certificate, and in the Enter your Private Key field, enter the private key of the certificate:
- you will find the certificate details in the email sent to your contact email after the certificate was issued;
- private key for free SSL certificate you will also find in the letter (subject of the letter starts with "Data for domain ssl certificate installation");
- private key for paid certificate must be stored on your PC (the key was generated at the stage of certificate ordering).
If the private key corresponds to the SSL certificate, you will see the following information:
