Set up VPN on Mi Wi-Fi Router

Mi Wi-Fi routers support VPN setup, allowing the feature to be used at the network level without the need to configure it on each device separately.

Get a VPN Settings

To configure the VPN on the router, go to your dashboard, where the following parameters are provided:

• VPN Server.
• Username.
• Password.

Set up a router

To configure the router, go to miwifi.com or use the router’s IP address: 192.168.31.X. Settings can also be configured via the mobile app.

In the router interface, you need to:

• Go to Mi Wi-Fi → Advanced settings → VPN → Add service.
• Fill in the required fields:
  • VPN Server.
  • Username.
  • Password.

Select the connection type

The Connection Type option may depend on the router firmware. In most cases, a successful connection will occur using the L2TP protocol.

To connect, click the Connection button.

After connecting, the router will establish a VPN connection, and you can check your IP address using the 2ip service.

Notes

• VPN can be turned on and off from the Mi Wi-Fi interface. You can change the connection country in your dashboard.

• When changing the location in the order menu, the VPN Server setting in the router must be updated to match the selected location.
