Two-factor authentication in cPanel
Guidelines for setting up secure identification when logging into the cPanel control panel.
"Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)" is an enhanced security mechanism that requires two forms of identification: a password and a generated security code.
If 2FA is enabled, the app on your smartphone will provide a code that must be entered along with your password to log in.
To activate this feature, go to "Security → Two Factor Authentication".

You will need a supported app on your phone to set up two-factor authentication. The developers of cPanel recommend using the following applications:
- Android, iOS, and Blackberry - Google Authenticator;
- Android and iOS - Duo Mobile;
- Windows Phone - Authenticator;
In the opened window you need to scan the provided QR code by the application on your phone.

If you don't have a QR code reader, you can manually set up two-factor authentication in the app using the account name and key offered by the panel.
