S3 Storage Limits
Information about request rate and data transfer speed limits in S3 storage.

To ensure stable operation of S3 storage, limits are imposed on the number of requests and data transfer speeds.
All limits apply separately to each bucket.
Request Rate Limits
The following limits apply to each bucket:
| Operation Type | Maximum Request Rate |
|---|---|
| PUT, POST, DELETE | 5 requests per second |
| GET, HEAD | 25 requests per second |
Exceeding these limits may result in request errors.
Data Transfer Speed Limits
Each bucket has independent limits for uploading and downloading data:
| Data Transfer Direction | Maximum Speed |
|---|---|
| Upload (to the bucket) | 100 Mbit/s |
| Download (from the bucket) | 100 Mbit/s |
Upload and Download limits are independent of each other.
This means that using a single account, you can simultaneously upload data to a bucket at speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s and download data from the same bucket at speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s.
Therefore, simultaneous uploads and downloads do not reduce each other's available bandwidth within the specified limits.
Configuration Recommendations
To ensure proper operation of S3 storage, we recommend limiting the number of concurrent requests on the client side.
When using AWS CLI, configure the max_concurrent_requests parameter in the ~/.aws/config file.
Configuration example:
[default]
region = us-east-1
endpoint_url = https://c1.de.fornex.io
s3 =
max_concurrent_requests = 5
addressing_type = virtual
Parameter descriptions:
- max_concurrent_requests — the maximum number of concurrent requests. The recommended value is
5. - region — the region used to connect to S3 storage.
- endpoint_url — the S3 storage endpoint URL.
- addressing_type — the bucket addressing method. The
virtualvalue specifies virtual-hosted-style addressing.
Note
Please note that the max_concurrent_requests parameter limits the number of concurrent requests but does not guarantee compliance with the requests-per-second limit. Under high request loads, additional request rate limiting may be required.
