RDP File Transfer in Windows Server
Guidelines for setting up the clipboard via RDP
Note
Windows Server is available for installation on all VPS and dedicated server plans. You can find more details here and here.
The clipboard allows you to transfer files between your local computer and the remote server. To use this feature, you need to configure your RDP client correctly.
Launch the RDP client on your computer: Start → Run → mstsc.exe
→ OK or press Win + R.
In the window that appears, click Show Options.
Go to the Local Resources tab, check Clipboard, and then click More.
Expand the Drives section and check all local drives you want to access.
Note
To access a USB drive, make sure it is connected to your computer beforehand. Then click OK.
Click Connect to log in to the remote server.
You can now copy files between your local machine and the remote server using the clipboard. Connected local drives and USB devices will appear in This PC on the remote server.
