BrainyCP control panel allows you to install a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate using an automated process that simplifies the process for creating and renewing certificates.

Why is an SSL certificate needed?

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a security technology used for securely transmitting data between a server and a client over the internet. Installing an SSL certificate on your website helps strengthen security, increase visitor trust, and improve SEO rankings, as search engines consider the presence of a certificate as a ranking factor.

Quick start

  1. To install SSL, log in to BrainyCP control panel on your VPS.
  2. Go to Certificates → SSL Control.

Install Let’s Encrypt certificate

  1. Select your domain.
  2. Click on the Install Let’s Encrypt Certificate button.
  3. Select the parameters:
    • Install certificate for email.
    • Auto-renew of certificate.
  4. Click on the Save button.

Automatic certificate renewal and check

Once the certificate is installed, a request will be automatically sent, and a task will be added to Cron to check for certificate renewal (if this was selected), ensuring it is renewed automatically.

Check certificate installation

  1. Go to your site using https.
  2. Ensure that the certificate is installed and everything works correctly.

You can also verify the certificate installation using the SSL Shopper service.

Set up HTTP to HTTPS redirection

  1. Go to the Webserver controlHTTP Redirect.
  2. Select the website and set up the redirection from http to https.
  3. Click the Add button.
