GitLab is a powerful open-source platform that provides a complete DevOps lifecycle — from planning and coding to testing, deployment, and monitoring — all in one integrated application. The product was written by Dmitry Zaporozhets and Valery Sizov from Ukraine. The management office and CEO Sytse Sijbrandij is based in San Francisco. The code is written in Ruby and Go.

It combines Git repository hosting, issue tracking, CI/CD pipelines, wikis, container registry, and much more into a single, user-friendly interface.
