Importing and Exporting Email in cPanel
Guide to importing and exporting mail in the control panel
You can migrate your email using the cPanel interface. Follow these steps:
Note
cPanel is used as the control panel on all web hosting plans.
Backing Up Mail Directories
The first step in migrating your email is to create a backup of the mail directories from your old server.
Log in to the cPanel control panel → File Manager under your account on the old server.
Go one level up from the public_html directory.
Here you will find the Mail directory. Open it.
Right-click on the required directory and select Compress to archive it.
Choose the archive format.
Next, download the archive to your local computer using the Download button in the top menu.

- Create email accounts identical to those on the old server.
- Open File Manager under the Files section.
- Go to the home directory and open the Mail folder.
- Upload your email backup archive to this folder.
- Extract the archive and delete the zip file.
